Waterless Dyeing
of All Textiles with Conventional Dyes

How SUPRAUNO® Works

About SUPRAUNO®

SUPRAUNO® developed by Deven Supercriticals is a patented sustainable waterless dyeing and finishing technology that revolutionizes textile dyeing using Supercritical CO2 as the medium instead of water. Our innovative solution, for the first time in the world, allows the waterless use of conventional dyes & their traditional tri-chrome recipes in the sustainable dyeing operation of various man-made and natural fabric types, including Cotton, Polyester, Nylon, Viscose, Linen, Silk, Acrylic and Blends using Supercritical CO2.

SUPRAUNO® further requires no reduction clearing for polyester, uses no salt for cotton, improves overall dye utilization, follows single bath dyeing of textile blends and uses up to 90% lesser auxiliary chemicals which otherwise would have ended up in the wastewater. Thus, it substantially reduces Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) load, lowering batch times leading to ~50% lesser energy load. Experience the benefits of an eco-friendly dyeing technology to color all with SUPRAUNO®.

Inventive
Step

Pre-coating of textiles, with optimum quantity of dye & auxiliary chemicals, to increase the surface area of the dyes and improve their rate of solubilization in supercritical CO2. This also improves uniformity, reproducibility of dyed shade, washing fastness & finishing effects.

Non Obviousness

We can use any pre-coating method such as inkjet printing, roller coating, spraying or similar processes for having a controlled, uniform pre-coating of the optimum quantity of dye molecules on the entire textile material to achieve a single or multi-color/ light or dark shade dyeing as well as finishing of textiles with post treatment with SC CO2.

Industrial Applicability

SUPRAUNO® eliminates major limitations of prior-art supercritical dyeing processes available in the market. Its innovative features make it very simple, easily scalable, most efficient, economically viable and yet versatile, to truly achieve the sustainability goals of industry dealing with various types of textiles.

Advantages

SUPRAUNO® is a versatile, viable, simple and a complete sustainable solution

No Water Used/
90% lesser chemicals

SUPRAUNO® uses Supercritical CO2 as the solvent for dyeing instead of water used in the traditional ways of dyeing textiles. SUPRAUNO® also uses up to 90% lesser chemicals thus minimizing the release of harmful chemicals and dyes into the water resources promoting sustainability in textile manufacturing.

SUPRAUNO® also further has the following advantages -

  1. Better dye utilization resulting in stronger shade strength

  2. Lower Dyeing Time

  3. Lesser Energy, pollution (ETP) Load

No water used when dyeing with SUPRAUNO®
SUPRAUNO can dye multiple fabric types

Versatile

Our patented SUPRAUNO® technology has for the first time in the world, enabled the use of Supercritical CO2 for sustainable dyeing of not only Polyester but also for various other man-made and natural textiles such as Nylon, Aramid, Acrylic, Viscose, Cotton, Linen, Silk etc. and their blends.

Hence, SUPRAUNO® has made sustainable dyeing of textiles truly versatile, viable, simple and is not limited to mainly polyester, like the prior-art supercritical CO2 dyeing technologies used earlier in the world.

SUPRAUNO® does not require special dyes for dyeing

No Special Dyes Used

SUPRAUNO® allows the use of conventional dyes and traditional tri-chrome recipes in its dyeing operation. This helps improve the viability as no special dyes are used as in the prior-art processes. Also, the expertise of Dye Masters in Dye Houses can be continued to be used just as in the case of any conventional method for dyeing.

Our innovative step of coating dyes on the surface of the fabric increases the effective surface area of  the dye and thus increases interaction of dyes in SC CO2, achieving uniform & efficient penetration of the dye.

Economical Viability of SUPRAUNO®

Economic Viability of SUPRAUNO®

Our novel, patented technology, SUPRAUNO®, is truly economically viable to be implemented in the industry with dyeing costs being significantly lower as compared to conventional water based dyeing. This is possible as our technology avoids two bath dyeing for Cotton-Polyester blends and uses much lesser quantity of auxiliary chemicals, uses no salt, thus substantially reducing the pollution, water and energy load.

Similarly, SUPRAUNO® is also suitable for dyeing & finishing of various other Man-made & Natural textiles like Polyester, Nylon, Acrylic, Cotton, Viscose, Linen, Silk etc. and blends.

Thus, SUPRAUNO® is very unique in the world and can play an important role for truly accomplishing sustainable compliances by the Textile Industries vis-à-vis Conventional / Traditional processes which have a negative impact on the environment & customer preferences.

Steps involved in SUPRAUNO®

01

Precoating a Thin Layer of Dye solution onto the Textile

The precoating of the textiles with the dye solution containing the dyes, chemicals and finishing agents significantly improves the efficiency of interaction of the dyes and chemicals with the Supercritical Carbon Dioxide due to a greater contact area.

SUPRAUNO® dyeing process

02

Subsequent Drying and Rolling into a Beam

The precoated textile goes through a drying chamber and is rolled into a beam, ready to be fed into the supercritical fluid dyeing vessel.

03

Dyeing Completed using Supercritical Carbon Dioxide

The precoated textile is fed into the dyeing vessel where supercritical carbon dioxide is filled at a suitable pressure & temperature to complete the dyeing process followed by a mild washing step. SUPRAUNO® is a closed loop process where 96% of the used CO2, reclaimed from existing industrial processes, is recycled back into the CO2 tank.
